I love British style and the fact that we (well, some of us) aren't afraid to be unique. I love going to London and seeing all the different styles of people. My favourite shop is Topshop, my favourite designers are Luella and Chanel and i love the styles of Alexa Chung, Edie Sedgwick and the Olsen twins. My favourite models are Agyness Deyn, Lily Donaldson and Gemma Ward. I want to be a fashion journalist or stylist :)

purpose & description
I was looking for a work appropriate outfit for the Macy's I work at in Portland, and I found this dress hoping I could make it more interesting with some other simple pieces. I got the dress and necklace at Nordstroms, the bag is Betsy Johnson, and the shoes are Marc Jacobs (definitely a splurge item that was worth it!)

I think this is a great outfit for working at a fine department store. It's also a nice outfit for any magazine interns out there (for the fall). One tip: check lower end shoe stores for similar shoes before splurging on expensive wardrobe additions. Nothing's more fashionable than being debt free!

I like it already, but was wondering if you plan to wear funky textured tights like the ones in the picture--that would be perfect. Even if you just went with a subtle color that is not black an coordinates with the bag, you will look sleek and sophisticated.

The I think this dress is a little short for work. Also, I'd go for bracelets instead of a necklace since the dress is a turtleneck. I love the knot on the shoes!
