purpose & description
I've had this idea for a while, at least since grade school, only until I've had this idea for a while, at least since grade school, only until recently did I actually execute it. I took 18 of my dad's old ties (with his permission of course) and 2 of my friend's dad's ties (with his permission too), sewed them together, hemmed the top and added a halter neck (another tie). The thing in my right hand is a clutch - I do sell them, drop me a message if you're interested. I wore this to a bat mitzvah and for an English presentation - everyone loved it and I am so proud of it. It's my baby =^.^= P.S. The shoes are from Urban Outfitters: http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp;jsessionid=947919412929AE2248EFB7B5539B985F.app11-node8?itemdescription=true&itemCount=60&id=13226725&parentid=W_SHOES_HEELSWEDGES&sortProperties=+product.marketingPriority,-product.startDate&navCount=3&navAction=poppush&color=46re

I made a necktie dress from neckties that I got from www.tiecoon.com. They have great men's ties, but if you call them, they have a stock lot of ties for only $.60 each! Great deal!

Great choice in colors and patterns...and I love that you made a strapless dress out of it. However, the necktie as clothes things has really been run into the ground at this point. I think you are talented and will come up with something truely original next time.

love the dress always thought that neckties could be put to better use than laying useless in the closet

Oh, that would explain a lot! Sorry, I sorta jumped to conclusions and thought many negative votes for me + lots of votes for you = you cheating. I'm glad that this has been sorted out, and hopefully we can continue this contest with all this behind us. Best of luck in the contest!

Wow...ok i obviously haven't seen this in a while and I missed what all the fuss is over. Delilah, I'm sorry this is happening. One of my friends told me I needed to come see what was going on with this, they (and a few of their friends) were responsible for some of your negative votes. I am sorry they did that, I honestly had no idea. I had simply asked them to vote for me, not drive yours down. I apologize about all of this and will ask them to back down so that the contest will be more fair like it should be!

I don't have a problem I was simply letting her know what it looked to an outsider. Her dress it cute, I've seen it done before, but it's cute!

love2love, I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude and jump in here, but what exactly is your problem? She already apologized and removed the offending comment. It seems like you're picking on her unnecessarily. Quite frankly, I think delilahpurple has handled this whole thing with more grace and etiquette than I would have been able to, and I'm sorry to see that her necktie dress isn't still in the running to win, because I think it is by far the best and most creative entry.

Regardless of your point of view it just appeared to be a completely unnecessary comment.

Thanks everyone for your comments! love2love - Yes, I can see where that would be very nasty to someone who didn't know my point of veiw, I have removed the offending paragraph so not to give the wrong impression, I also removed the excess information =^.^=

That is a cute dress, but that is rather nasty accusation that you are making on someone. You should also check your purpose and description because there is a lot of duplicate info and some of it makes a bit confusing.

I really love this dress. It reminds me of this jacket: http://doesthislookstupid.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/sohung-designs.jpg that AnnieChin posted in the dtls blog last month, but your dress is way more adorable, and not so in your face edgy.
