I think this is an excellent start--I actually really like the color combination and think adding a thick brown belt and ivory cardi would make it really perfect!!

I happen to like the tee [for a young person, you don't want to look too stuffy or maw maw/prudish], and I definately like the color combination, especially against your skin. The accesories are great, as well, but I'm wondering what shoes you would wear with this?

thanks everyone. i understand that the tee may not be a perfect match for the skirt but i'm only 17, and im just building my wardrobe but the suggestions are all helpful!

I love the skirt but I'm not a fan of mixing a tee with tweed. In fact I hate even using the two in the same sentence. I would love to see this on you in a rich brown, short sleeve, fitted button up. One where the sleeves come right to the elbow an have a nice stiff fold up. OR a nice fitted turtle neck in either brown or off white with a wide brown belt. And high leather boots of course. If your going for casual, save the skirt for another outfit and match the top with a lighter, more casual skirt. Keep classic, classic and casual, casual. Maybe give the necklace one more loop around your neck to make it shorter. It is kind of distracting from your bust line rather than complimenting it.

Cute! Some brown faux croc pumps from Nine West would be a great end to this outfit!

I think that's a great work outfit. A tweed pencil skirt is a fall closet staple and the peach looks nice against your skin tone.

i think the t-shirt and skirt looks great, young and modern. if you wear anything more formal on top you will look stuffy, overdressed and like an old lady. the colour is great on you and the necklace is just enough accessorizing.
