purpose & description
I work at an artsy hair salon where we have to look pulled together but still trendy. Keep in mind I wore this several months ago, I think in February. The vest and pants are H&M, the shirt is Martini, the hat is vintage and the shoes are Chinese Laundry. The ring and silver bracelet are from my grandmother. I originally wore it with several stands of long maroon beads in varying lengths and a matching bracelet, which really upped the look, but I'm out of town right now and didn't bring them with me. You can't really tell, but the shoes are like saddle shoes, but heels. I thought it was almost like old mobster with a modern twist.

Add a pinstripe jacket to match the pants. Also, wear open toe sandals or flip flops for more of a professional office look. A tie and belt would be nice as well.

Professional vest and pants. Never wear close toe shoes to work, always open toe or flip flops. The t-shirt underneath the vest is a little too casual, try a button up white blouse.

Going for the 1920's classic mobster look is creative. I love the black striped pants. A pair of chunky platform boots with high heel would give this outfit a dash of spice. Love the hat.

Pinstripe pants look good. White shirt should be long sleeve, not short for a better match. Black flip flops would look good with that outfit.

I think the vest is nice. I don't know if you have to wear a certain color, but all the black seems like a lot.

the vest seems too boxy. I actually don't like this look at all but it could look better with a more fitted vest

the pinstripe on the pants is too vibrant, a more muted pinstripe would be more classy. the white t-shirt would be better replaced with something a little more dressy, maybe a button down

Vests are in, pin-striped pants are in, black and white combos are in, but when you incorperate all these looks at once it equals one thing- not being IN. This look is just wayy too tendy to be considered trendy (hopefully that made sense to you!). I thnk the tops with dark jeans and a gold necklace would give it a more fashionista rather than fashion-victim vice! Also, the shoes are just too much, stick to classic black pumps, or maybe even gold peep-toes. Try the pants with a bold color- maybe electric blue, or yellow? Don't be afraid to venture away from the archetypes, add some of your own personality and you can never go wrong!.

I love the entire outfit especially with the addition of a necklace and bracelet, except for the shirt. A white button down or possibly a more classy white t-shirt would just pull the look together better.

All the pieces are great but I think there's something about them being all together. I think the vest would look better with a button down. The shoes and the pinstripes seem to be too much, especially with the hat. I would try pair the top items with a black skirt and flats. Pull together a trendy piece with a few necklaces, which would look great with a button down.

Can you leave the vest open?

I looove vests. They're so classy and masculine, yet sexy at the same time. I'm think the saddle shoes compete a bit too much with the pants, maybe some without pinstripes, but the outfit is very cute.

I love the vest. I would have worn a basic button down shirt in either blue or white. I would not wear saddle shoes. The hat does not go well with the outfit. Remember less is more.

I like it! And I think the hat goes very well with your blond hair.

Pretty close to being perfect. Just swap that vest for a full jacket and trade those shoes for black leather flip flops. Then you would look very professional.
