purpose & description
I think this basic black vintage Marolakos for Saks Fifth Avenue would be great to wear to a shmancy cocktail party. You can't really see it in the picture, but there's a really pretty pleating detail on the bust that travels round to the back. I'd wear it with this diamond and onyx short necklace that was my aunt's and ideally also some sort of bracelet and/or ring. The shoes are BCBG strappy stilettos. Of course, I'd rather my boobs fit in it a little better, but it may be cuter on someone else....

Love the dress! if you prefer to were this to a classy cocatail party, then find a great pashmina wrap (will help to draw less attention to your bust area). There is something about the shoes that is throwing the look off, heels or sandels with color would pop better, maybe like silver or red. If you wanna do an extravagant neck piece (which you could do), wear studs on your ears, especially if you had your hair pinned up.

I think the ankle-strap looks fine but I do agree a metallic shoe would look better if you're not going to wear many accessories. The dress looks great on you and accentuates your chest just right. If your falling out of the dress while you walk, try a different bra.

We like the dress, but there's something about the shoes. The ankle strap seems to cut off the line, maybe making the legs look shorter. Maybe silver shoes? Something with color could look more interesting.

I think the silhouette of the dress is super vampy on you and looks great, but I do think for certain places, your chest is drawing a lot of attention. If it's a classy party, it might come off as a little trashy, but it would be great for a night at the club.

You look amazing in this dress; it fits great on your curvy body!! Keep the jewelry simple; perhaps a classic pearl necklace and some chandelier earrings (pears or diamond?). Keep it simple, that's the key to this dress because you ALREADY stand out by yourself. Perhaps you could wear open-toed pumps though; just for a little more sophistication as opposed to strappy black shoes that you'd wear to prom.

I think you look great, sort of Scarlett Johansson-esque. I agree with Allyson about eliminating the necklace, and adding some diamond earrings and/or a diamond tennis bracelet or bangle.

You can never go wrong with a basic black dress. However, I say that with the simplicity of the dress, you should play up the accesories to really maximize the elegance of the dress. You don't want to wear accessories on the arms, neck and ears. This would take away from the sophisitication of the dress. I would leave the neck bare to not take away from the strapless line of the dress. I would pair some dramatic longer earrings with a dangly, preferably large, bracelet.

I absolutely love the dress, it's sexy and totally chic! You definitely need a new neclace though, I would go with something Gold, maybe a long chain with a beautiful sheer stone on the edge? Or, you could go with some fanbulous chandelier earrings, to bring the attenion to your ample assets! I really love the shoes, but I think this dress would work better with black pointed stilletos. The dress has so much WOW to it that you don't really need such instricate shoes. Try it out and see.

I like the retro glam look of this dress. Your chest looks fine. It'll definitely be a focal point. I'd wear some giant, Wilma Flintstone-sized pearls with this -- maybe even in red. Some red plastic pearls would be great. Or you could even get a pretty, vintage broach adn pin it to the cleavage. And then maybe get one of those 1940s movie star giant, retro cocktail rings at a flea market. And a sparkly bangle bracelet.
