purpose & description
For this year's prom, I wore a black and white babydoll prom dress with a tied satin ribbon. The white part is pleated, in case you can't tell. I then wore my black open-toed pumps with the crystal designs at the toe, and a pearl necklace. This wasn't my prom though (I was a sophomore), and I'd like to re-wear my dress for future occasions. How could I change my outfit slightly to fit different occasions, or just not keep to the same black and white?

You can buy jewelled strap things from most any fabric store and sew them on instead of your black straps. I agree that colorful shoes would look really cute. Red peep toe pumps with red nail polish and a red bangle or chunkier red earrings and it will look totally different.

Colors, shoes and necklace I love. The droopy bow, not so much. It makes it look very outdated and takes the focus away from the rest of your outfit. If you can, take that bow off and add a white or black crop cardigan ( maybe velvet?). I would also add a black with white polka dot very thin ribbon-like head band to add some flavor

This is a great prom dress! I love that it's not too formal- it's fun and flirty; perfect for an underclassman. With black and white you can never go wrong, so you'll be able to wear this dress again and again- and in so many different ways! Try it with red or silver peep toe heels. Or dress it down and wear it as a babydoll top with black flats. Removing the bow could make the dress an entirely new outfit- you'd be able to wear long necklaces with it, or even layer it with a jacket or cardigan. Any bright colored accessory could be used to update this outfit. Try a bold belt or big earrings. Mix and match for a fresh and funky look!

Add flats, bright colored shoes or a great set of beads with the dress to change it's look. This season plastic beads are very in (and very affordable), so try buying a bunch of different shades and experimenting with them until you find a few great looks you like. Remember, you will never know if you love or hate a look unless you give it a try. Take some time experimenting on a rainy afternoon with different shoes and accessories or even hairstyles! Remember makeup and hair can make all the difference in an outfit as well!

Can you take the bow out of the dress? Doing that and adding a bright elastic belt with a funky buckle or closure right at the empire waist would really update it and make it fun. I agree with the red shoes (just because I think red shoes are SO fab!), but any other bright shoe would do. You could also add opaque tights and wear it with flats for a slightly mod look.

I love the dress. It looks great on you and is surely a dress you can wear again and again. You can always try making it a little more casual with some flats and brightly colored jewelry (bright pink or purple comes to mind). I think you might even be able to put a jacket buttoned over the top of it and make it look more work-like, if you ever need to go to an interview or something more business-like.

I like the dress but I think you should have it tailored a bit to give it a modern flare. Maybe ditch the bow and change up the straps. Great thing about black and white; it never gets old. I agree with Lucky5drama about the shoes, red peep toed pumps sound great!

Very cute dress, and perfect for an underclassman attending a prom. There's a few things you can do to mix it up in the future. Try a different hairstyle, a longer necklace with a pendant, or some bright colored shoes (I'm partial to red peep toed pumps with a black and white ensemble)
