I like the shorts although flip flops go better with shorts then loafers.

WOW...this is an amazing look, pulled together in a unique way without looking like you're trying too hard.

It looks ok. Try that top as a belted dress. Cute shorts.

I love it. I think it's a great summer look as long as you replace the velvet belt with a white or bone belt. Also, I can't tell the fabric of the shirt, but another good option for summer is a thin men's black and white gingham shirt. To keep this outfit feminine, a classic strand of pearls around your neck and a classic or dainty gold or silver bracelet around one wrist works well. Hair should also be kept feminine. Think down floaty, or a loose wavy updo with a few messy strands framing your face.

I am a sucker for houndstooth (I have no idea why), and although I'm usually not a huge fan of flats, I actually really like this outfit. I think it might even work as a transition from summer to fall, and that way the belt could stay, because I kind of like it as is. All it needs is a great neutral bag, because I think this outfit has enough patterns and textures.

Eclectic meets preppy! Love the look - the shirt looks a bit big however, but you've got an amazing body and those shorts are definitely showing it off. I think the most important thing about this outfit is that you look comfortable in your clothes, and that adds to the outfits appeal and your confidence!

I agree the velvet is a fall fabric but I think you can pull it off during the summer with the right accessory. Perhaps a fabric clutch in a lighter shade of violet or a pearl colored bracelet or charm.

I didn't like it when I first looked at it, but it's growing on me! The only thing I'd say is that the purple velvet is much more suited for fall/winter. Perhaps leather or grosgrain would be better suited for the summer months.

Normally I really dislike busy patterns, but I like the houndstooth shirt with this outfit! It definitely adds more to the preppy appeal. The velvety purple belt is also very nicely done, and I'm surprised how good the flats look with the shorts! I would suggest some more accessories though; perhaps you can use a purple necktie as a belt instead? Pearls would complete the preppy look too!
